What is a Line? - Artist research.

DELTA

A Dutch artist whose influenced by large scale graffiti tags. He thinks of himself as an artist/designer/illustrator and his designs are often experimental being inspired by abstract lettering and 3D objects and environments.





David Foldvari

Foldvari's work dominantly if not entirely illustrative and it can often seem explicit or confusing. He uses lots of line drawings collaged with blocks of black and occasional colour and silhouettes.




Richard Beacham

Beacham uses lots of lines in different directions to create shading or contours in his illustrations. He describes his work as "figurative and semi-realist".

Communication is a Virus - Bram Vanhaeren.

Bram makes these posters with motivational phrases. what is most influential about these is the layout and the use of type and font  to bring the text to life. The black and white makes the designs simple and effective and we'll most likely do the same with our final prints to really make then contrast and stand out to the public.
We've already decided to use just 2 fonts though for our designs as anymore can be a bit difficult to read and may even be out of context for what we're trying to do.

What is a line? - Type and typography.

Communication is a Virus - Public Poster Project.

This poster project was carried out and set up by various artists and it gives us scope for our own project as we want our quotes to seem ambiguous and out of context in order to engage the audience by the confusion so they would want to learn more and understand it.
This work does exactly this and this quote sums it up perfectly: 'Your work makes no sense to so many that that´s exactly why it makes so much sense to everyone. Is touching minds, not only walls.'
